It is with sadness we announce the passing of Gary T. Sherman on October 30, 2020, after a very shot battle with cancer.
Gary was born in Maidstone, SK, on January 22, 1958. The family moved to Vegreville, AB, in 1962, where Gary went to school, completed his grade 12, and started his working career. Gary moved to Edmonton in 1976 and started working at JTI MacDonald. Gary met Julie (nee Young) Sherman in May of 1990 and were both married in October of 1994 in Gibbons, AB. Gary went on to work 32.5 years and retired February 1, 2013. Upon Gary’s retirement he decided to give back to God for all gifts and graces he received through the years. Gary joined the Knights of Columbus 1184 in 2009 and served St. Andrew’s Parish in Edmonton in various ministries.
Gary leaves to mourn his wife of 26 years, Julie; mother, Genevieve; two brothers, Bob (Marlene) and Ken (Marion); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary was predeceased by his father, Robert Henry Sherman on October 20, 2008.
A Prayer Service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2020, at St. Andrew’s Parish, 12810-111 Avenue, Edmonton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the same location at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 6, 2020.
