Gail’s Obituary
WESTVILLE – Gail Violet McGee, 61, Westville, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Aloysius Richard and Margaret Elizabeth (Fraser) O’Hagan. She was a member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Westville, having previously attended the former St. Gregory’s Parish, New Glasgow and St. Ann’s Parish, Thorburn, where she served as a Religious Education instructor for 34 years. Gail was a hairdresser and caregiver, and especially enjoyed working with children. She was a talented acrylic painter, seamstress and crafter. Gail enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her adoring grandchildren. She leaves a rich legacy of “a beautiful soul, kind heart and absolute love”. For Gail, “Life has changed; not ended!”
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Dennis McGee; daughters, Pam (Evan) Lavers, Westville; Holly McGee (Alexi Ladéroute), St. John’s, N.L.; grandchildren, Rhyan, Tatum and Jaxx Lavers, Westville; siblings, Michael (Stephanie) O’Hagan, Yarmouth; Wayne (Rose) O’Hagan, Churchville; Joanne (Brian) MacAulay, New Glasgow; many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Westville.
If desired, donations may be made in Gail’s memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or The Lodge That Gives, Halifax.
