Obituary
WILSON, Frederick Milton (Mel), passed away at his residence in Penticton on October 23, 2020. He was born on November 6, 1930 in Jefferson, Ontario. Mel spent 25 years as a sergeant in the Canadian Airforce and then went on to become an auditor in the public service, retiring in 1989. He and his lovely wife Aline, then moved to beautiful Gabriola Island for 17 years. Mel then decided he needed a new golf course so he and Aline made the move and settled in Penticton. They lived in the beautiful park near Skaha Lake and it was here that they came to meet the greatest friends, that they would come to rely on for love and support throughout their senior years. Although both eventually went to live in care homes, Mel seemed to be able to make friends everywhere he went. He had his routines for sure, especially shopping at Tony’s Meats and Deli and his fish and chips on Fridays at By the Sea. He had only lived in his new home for six weeks but everyone knew who he was for sure. He even started playing Bingo, and won too! Something else he never missed was baseball, especially the Blue Jays.
Milton is survived by his wife of 68 years, Aline Marie; daughters: Marielle (Duncan) Kennedy and Anita Wilson; son Tony (Kathy) Wilson. He was predeceased by his sons: Samuel and Paul. He will be missed greatly by his 12 grandchildren and 18 great grand children and one great, great grandchild.
