Fred Allison Weston
1944-2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful
passing of our dear Husband, Father, Grampie and Brother.
Fred Weston,76, of Lower Coverdale passed away on August 26th, 2020 at
the Moncton Hospital with his loving family by his
side.
He was born in Riverside, NB on August 15, 1944, the son of
the late Wainwright “Pappy” and Ruby (McKinley)
Weston.
Fred was employed by Colpitts The Stationer/ Denis Office
Products for over 46 years. He was involved with Riverview
Minor Hockey for over 10 years, while his son John played.
Fred spent many hours at the rink helping with Lloyd Watling and Paul
Henderson, who turned into lifelong friends. This continued on in his
later years as he enjoyed many hours going to watch his
grandchildren’s sports from basketball courts for his granddaughters
to cold mornings at the rink for his grandsons, he was always in the
stands cheering them on. He was their biggest fan.
Fred enjoyed being the go-to guy to help fix most anything from toys,
bikes, to building sheds, decks, stairs, and his wharf at
“Freddy’s Pond.” After retirement Fred
and Norma travelled the US, Ontario, Quebec along with four cruises in
the Caribbean with their close friends Doug and Linda
Burgess. In his spare time, he taught himself to play his
prize possession Taylor guitar. Spending many
Friday nights jamming with buddies, Doug, Ron and Brenda.
Fred and Norma spent many hours fixing up “Freddy’s” Pond by
his parents’ homestead. He took great pride in
making sure there was a white and red lighthouse shining from April to
November as a childhood memory of the many years spent living
on Grindstone Island.
“His light will live on in our hearts forever and
guide us on our journey.”
Fred will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend,
Norma (Thomas) Weston; his daughter, Angela Lansdale (Ryan),
granddaughters, Kaitlynn and Abbygail; his son John Weston
(Elizabeth), grandsons, Cole and Mathew; sisters, Freda and Betty;
brother, Kenny (Marie); sister-in-law, Sandra and her family; lifelong
friends, Lenny and Jeannine Cormier. He will also be missed
by several nieces, nephews and by all his extended
family.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother, Victor;
sister-in-law, Maxine Weston and brother-in-law, Donald
Kennie.
