FRANK Julius — avis de deces

FRANK, Julius

Julius passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11 at the age of 99 years. Julius was predeceased by his loving wife Pauline (2018) of 71 years. He will be sorely missed and survived by his daughters: Darleen Mazurek of Edmonton, Sharon Frank of Kelowna, Carla (Jim) Fiorentini of Calgary; grandchildren: Brenda (Geoff) Scott; Patricia Frank (Albert Levesque), Ashley and Matthew Fiorentini; and one great grandchild Evan Frank (Nidine Swart). Brother Elmer (Irene) Frank of Sudbury and sister Hedy Gadsby of Kelowna. Predeceased by his parents: Eva and Joseph Jr; sister Katy Lorinczi, brothers: Joseph, Andrew, Paul, Peter, Michael and Ferdie as well as son-in-law Frank Mazurek.
Julius was born and raised on the family farm (near Prudhomme, Sask) learning early what daily chores were about. Julius enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1942 until February 1946. After leaving military service, Julius loved farm life and continued the family tradition with his beloved wife Pauline. They raised three daughters together, teaching them values about life and the importance of family. In the spring of 1969, Julius and family moved to Kelowna. He worked for the City of Kelowna until his retirement in 1985 (16 yrs). Julius, a long side his wife Pauline had a huge vegetable garden, grew a variety of fruit trees and maintained a pristine weed-free lawn with award winning red roses. Julius was renowned for his cherry wine. He was very proud of the fact that he used his own cherries from his tree.
Julius took great pride in stocking his toolbox with his arsenal of tools. Every tool was methodically placed and always put away polished. There wasn’t anything that dad couldn’t build or repair. He truly was a Jack of all trades and a MacGyver of his era.
Friends and family will fondly remember Julius for his tenacity, quick wit, a swear word here or there and his generous and kind disposition. He was always willing to lend a hand, an ear or share a joke. He enjoyed his beer and loved his scotch. And yes, at times he was also known for his lack of patience. He didn’t hold back his opinion and had a knack for telling it like it is. This was one of dad’s characteristics that made him Julius.
Most of all dad loved his family and instilled in his daughter’s strong values that have served them well. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Rest in peace dad, you are together with Mom.
Julius’s wishes were to be cremated and due to the current COVID19 restrictions his funeral will be a private grave site service.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Barry Eliason (retired), and Dr. Nathan Strauss along with Cottonwoods Care Home and staff. Special thanks to Nancy, Heather, Linda, Terry and the many wonderful nurses and carers, your outstanding care for dad the past two and a half years is most appreciative and words cannot express our gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a worthy charity or organization of your choice.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of FRANK Julius —..
