Obituary
Frank Harold Dixon
August 31 1927- January 09 2020
Peacefully in his sleep our beloved Brother and Uncle passed away January 09, 2020.
Frank is predeceased by his wife Maxine Dixon in 2014. He is survived by his sisters Joan Challis (Winnipeg), Kaye Merritt (North Bay) and Claire Weir (Calgary). He will be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank was born on August 31, 1927 in the Rural Municipality of Wallace (Elkhorn, Mb.) He was born and raised on the family farm and agriculture remained his lifelong passion. I if you wanted to understand land and nature Frank was certainly the person to talk to. Yes it always rains 6 months to the day after Hoar Frost.
Frank loved to pass on his love of the land to his nieces and nephews. Summers at the farm were a time when all the kids would come out and revel in the farm experience. Frank loved to teach the nieces and nephews everything from herding cattle to fixing a tractor, combining included! He truly enjoyed having everyone around.
Frank loved curling! He loved to play the sport, and did so into his 80’s. Later in life he loved to watch curling on T.V. he was an expert. He always asked people who would call… Are you watching the curling?…the answer always ,yes
Frank and Maxine moved to the city when he “retired” from farming. He always liked to work a plot of land to keep himself busy. Later in life he moved to the Portsmouth retirement community, he would spend the rest of his life surrounded by friends.
Frank was a loving and compassionate person. He had a kindness for everyone that was part of his life. He had an incredible sense of humour that kept everyone around him on their toes. May this wonderful man Rest in Peace. You were so very loved Frank
Interment will be held at Elkhorn MB. With a date in the spring to be announced
