Francis Joseph Richard
1938-2020
The death occurred peacefully at his home on Monday, April
20, 2020, with his loving family by his side, of Francis Joseph
Richard of Union Road, St. Louis, aged 81 years. Beloved husband of
Lucille Anne (nee Doucette) Richard. Born on June 20, 1938,
he was the son of the late John P. and Edith A. (nee Blanchard)
Richard.
Loving father to Eileen Richard of Belfast, PE, Betty
MacNeill (Maurice Gallant) of St. Nicholas, Frank (Kelly) Richard of
St. Catherines, ON, Dennis (Paula) Richard of St. Louis, Dianna (Todd)
Getson of Kingston, PE, Peter (Anna) Richard of St. Catherines, ON,
Norma (Rudy) Beckers of North Rustico, PE, and Lorna (Keith) McInnis
of Tignish. He will be sadly missed by his 29 grandchildren and by his
great-great-grandchildren, as well as his nieces, nephews and
friends.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Edna
(late Andrew) Jones of Tignish, Wilfred (Eileen) Doucette of Tignish,
Evelyn (late Ronald) Myers of Pleasant View, Arthur (Ada) Doucette of
Pleasant View, Julia (late Melvin) Doucette of Alberton, Deloris (late
Lawrence) Doucette of Alberton, and Lorraine Peters of Barrie,
ON.
He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Wayne MacNeill, and by
brothers, Fidele Richard, Lawrence Richard, Guillaume (late Florence)
Richard, Adrian (late Vera) Richard, Aubin (late Alethia)
Richard. He
was also predeceased by half-sister, Emma (late Fred) Arsenault and by
half-brothers, Isadore Peters, Paul (Hilda) Peters, Felix Peters, two
Peters children in infancy, and by a brother Freddie (late Joan)
Doucette.
Francis drove the school bus in the St. Louis area for over
32 years until his retirement.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. No
visiting hours will be held. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the
Immaculate Church, Palmer Road at the date and time to be
announced.
As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Canadian
Cancer Soicety would be gratefully appreciated.
