It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Florence Anderson announce her peaceful passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Friday, November 20th, 2020 at the age of 73 years. Born in Channel-Port aux Basques, NL, Florence was the daughter of the late David and Ethel Anderson (nee Chant). She was also predeceased by her partner; Henry Philips in 2008, brothers Monford (Ruth) Anderson, Stanley (Margaret) Anderson, William Anderson, Ralph Anderson, sisters; Geraldine (Walter) Anderson, Francis (George) Hunt, brother-in-law; Andrew Kendall and sister-in-law; Tryphena Anderson.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter; Janet (Elroy) Anderson of Port aux Basques, NL, sisters; Ellen Kendall, Rose (Claude) Warren both of Port aux Basques, NL, Ruth (Roland) Wetherall of Rawdon, Quebec, Margaret (Aubrey) Parsons of Clarke’s Beach, NL, brother; Charlies Anderson of Isle aux Morts, NL and sisters-in-law; Elsie Anderson and Margaret Anderson both of Port aux Basques, NL plus a large circle of extended family and friends from the Mountain Hope Manor from where Florence resided for the past five years.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre and the staff of the ICU unit at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital for all the care and support they provided.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 23rd, at 2 pm from the Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle, Grand Bay, officiated by Pastor Jeffrey Bessey. Interment will follow at the Faith Pentecostal Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway. Flowers are graciously accepted and donations in Florence’s memory can be made to the family.
