Obituary of Evelyn Mae Secord
Secord, Evelyn Mae, a resident of Thamesville, passed away peacefully at home with her daughters and granddaughter at her side, on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at the age of 91. Born in Chatham, Evelyn is the daughter of the late William S. and Williamina (Small) Donaldson, formerly of Dundee, Scotland, and the step-daughter of Irene Bruce (Wyatt). Evelyn is predeceased by her husband of fifty years, James L. Secord (2003) and her son James David Secord (2020). Survived by her daughters Sandra Secord (Rob Kligman) and Nancy Gilbert (Don), and her granddaughter Carrie Gilbert (Jeremy O’Neill). Also survived by her brother John Allan Donaldson (Elizabeth) and her sister-in-law Betty Vopicka Donaldson, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses: Marion Kehoe (Frank), Gladys Zimmer (Carl), William S. Donaldson, and sister Edna Margaret Donaldson who died at the age of one year.
At Evelyn’s request, cremation has taken place. Interment of Jim and Evelyn’s ashes will take place at a future date in Mayhew Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Arthritis Society. Arrangements entrusted to the John C. Badder Funeral Home, Thamesville.
