1945-2020
The death occurred at the palliative care unit of the Western
Hospital, Alberton, on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, with his loving
family by his side, of Eric William Walter McKenna, beloved husband to
Arlene Dorothy (nee Wells) McKenna of Elmsdale, age 75 years. Born on
September 12, 1945, he was the son of the late Byron and Margaret (nee
Gillis) McKenna.
Loving father to Blaine McKenna of Summerside and Karen (Pat)
Murphy of Alberton. Cherished grandfather to Drew and Lyla Murphy and
Braedon McKenna. He is survived by his brother Reg McKenna of
Charlottetown and by his sister-in-law, Shirley Smallman of
Alberton.
He was predeceased by siblings, Allison, Margeurite, Raymond
and Dorothy Aylward, his father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Ida
Wells, brother-in-law, Fred Aylward, sister-in-law, Vivian McKenna and
niece Carol Anne Peters.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, from
where a private family visitiation for invited guests only will be
held on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday for family and
invited guests, from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel at 2:00
p.m., Rev. Andrew MacDonald and Rev. Ross Morrison officiating.
Interment will take place in the Elmsdale Church of the
Nazarene Cemetery on Monday September 7th at 11:00
a.m.
As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Elmsdale
Community Centre would be gratefully appreciated.
