Emerson’s Obituary
O’Connell, Emerson George, age 72 of Shelburne; It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Emerson on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Roseway Hospital. Born June 2, 1948 at Stoney Island, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Eva (Ross) O’Connell. Emerson is survived by his wife Marion and daughter Tashina O’Connell (Ryan); two grandsons, Nicholas and Brexton; niece Lesa and nephews Shannon, Quinten and Shawn. Emerson was predeceased by his parents, Sylvester and Eva; brothers, Roy and Carl. Emerson entered the workforce as a young lad under the supervision of his dad at Kenney and Ross, Port Saxon. He was also employed at Island Marine Products, Tri County Forklift Ltd., and Stoney Island Fisheries. He also acquired his 4th Class Burner Ticket and Plumbing Licence. Emmie’s Plumbing and Heating became the icon for Emerson. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his joy of laughter, pranks he played and his sense of humor. His passion for cars, travelling, animals, and woodworking will be cherished. A graveside gathering will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made in his memory to Roseway Hospital Charitable Foundation- Palliative Care Unit, Minnies Feline Friends or Stoney Island Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of H.M.
