Service Details
Elizabeth Joyce Philip was born September 6, 1921 at the Fairgrieve farm SE 3-4-29 in the Eunola District, second child of John Fairgrieve and Lillias Clague. Beth went to Eunola School, a time she dearly cherished. At 18 she married the dashingly handsome Norman Philip and together they farmed the Philip family farm SW 22-4-29 for the next thirty five years. In her fifties Beth moved to Storthoaks, Saskatchewan where she lived with her dear partner Harry Fisher. After Harry’s death Beth unfortunately broke her hip at the age of 89. From then on Beth lived at the Gainsborough Health Centre where she received wonderful care until her death on Saturday, June 27, 2020, two months short of her 99th birthday.
Beth will be mourned and dearly missed by her daughters, Madonna and Lillias; her four grandchildren, Chloe, Katharine, Philip and Ariane; her sister, Isabel and family; families of her late brothers Clague, Bruce, and Tom, and the Philip family.
A service will take place at a later date with interment at the Tilston Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Beth can be directed to the Eunola School Heritage Fund, c/o Meg Minshull, Box 150, Pierson, MB. R0M 1S0.
