Obituary of Eleanor Runions
Eleanor Runions passed away August 4, 2020 peacefully at home with family by her side. She was the last surviving child of Thomas and Rebecca Gray. She will be greatly missed by all her family.
Eleanor was born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 6, 1925. As a baby her family emigrated to Canada and settled in Mayook, B.C. During WWII, with her older siblings and father serving their country Eleanor, her mother and two younger sisters moved into Cranbrook where she met a young man from Saskatchewan looking for work. Eleanor married Wally Runions in 1950 and in 1954 they moved to Fernie until they returned to Cranbrook in 2005.
Eleanor is survived by her children Archie (Marg), Gale (Bob), Kelly (Tim), Tammy (Paul), grandchildren David (Mariah), Brandi (Craig), Angela (Darren), Braden and Cole, great grandchildren Campbell, Ella, Jordan, Beck, Marley, Pepper, Brynn and Tia, sisters-in-law Lorna Flaterud, Ruby Gray and Francis Runions as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Wally, her parents, siblings and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
The family will have a private graveside celebration at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to STARS air ambulance are greatly appreciated. stars.ca/ways-to-donate/ab/
