Eileen’s Obituary
NEW GLASGOW – Eileen Mary Lewis, 68, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 on Caribou Island with her sister, Kathy and brother-in-law, Wayne by her side
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret (Perrin) Pellerine. Eileen enjoyed spending time with her “kitten” and going for her Tim’s tea. She was a “homebody” who truly enjoyed the peace and serenity of her home. Eileen possessed a “kind heart”, embraced the essence of life and will be fondly remembered as a “firecracker”.
Surviving are her sons, Howard Lewis, Grande Prairie, Alta.; John Lewis, New Glasgow; granddaughter, Lori Anne (Peter) Debogorski, Grande Prairie; grandson, Jesse Lewis, Abbotsford, B.C.; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Haven and Grayson; sister, Kathy (Wayne) Otter, Caribou Island; brothers, Percy (Joan) Pellerine, Lourdes; Wilfred (Doris) Pellerine, Westville; Willy Pellerine, New Glasgow; Michael Pellerine, Truro; sister-in-law, Janet Stewart, Westville; niece, Agnes (Dave) Leavitt, Westville; nephew, John Stewart Jr., Trenton; many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Maxwell “Max” Lewis; sister, Katherine in infancy; brother, Danny Pellerine; brothers-in-law, John Lewis, Howard Lewis and John Stewart.
In honour of Eileen’s wishes a private graveside service will be held in Brookside Cemetery with Rev. Mr. Sander Burke presiding.
Eileen’s family wish to especially thank, Dr. Anne Kwasnik-Krawczyk, Dr. Gerry Farrell, Debbie Williams, RN, Rhonda Langille, RN, the VON nurses and homecare support staff for the exceptional care she received during her illness. They wish to thank Marla MacDonald, NP, Dr. Snow, Dr. Cwanjwer, Deacon Sander Burke and Janice Ferguson for her concern and guidance.
Son, Howard, grandchildren, Lori, and Jessie wish to express their eternal gratitude to Kathy and Wayne for their selfless devotion to Nanny throughout her illness. For giving her a “lifetime of love”, comfort and companionship as she journeyed with cancer.
