Obituary of Effie Forsten
Forsten: Effie (Hoekstra) –
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandma, and Great Grandma, Effie Forsten who peacefully passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on November 7, 2020 at the age of 74.
She will finally be reunited with Dad (Elbert), the love of her life, Annette (daughter), and Bradley (son) and no longer is suffering. If anyone was handed a battle it was mom. She fought each and every one of them with determination and didn’t give up easily right to the end.
Born in Oudega, The Netherlands, Effie was the daughter of the late Peter and Hilda (nee Adema) Hoekstra.
Loving mother to Cindy (Mike) Bokor of Cedar Springs, Everett (Trudy) Forsten of Sarnia, and Nancy (Jeff) Little of Kitchener.
Grandmother to Kristy (Max) Rylett, Kelvin Bokor (Stacey McRae), Kaylene Forsten (Brent Maheu), Trever Forsten (Taylor Parsons), Michele Little (Michael Costello), Tara Little (Mark Davies).
Great Grandmother to Madelyn, Chase, and Beckham Rylett.
Sister to the late Jack (Jean) Hoekstra, Grace (Albert) Mast, Tina (late Adrian) Verburg, late Jean (Andy) Roorda, Sarah (Henry) Regts, Harry (Yvonne) Hoesktra, Judy (Bert) Vandendool, Janet (late Wayne) Buck.
Sister in law to Harry (Carol) Forsten and the late Alice (Ted) Greenway.
Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Effie will be remembered for her contagious smile, love of gardening and always enjoyed reading the next novel.
A private family service and interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
Thank you to Dr. Morrison, LND Health Services, all the staff at Village on the Ridge, friends, family who visited and mostly the caring staff at CK Hospice, they made mom’s journey to Heaven comfortable, respectable, and peaceful.
