We are sad to announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother uncle and friend. Doug will be missed by his wife Laura, son Ted (Elizabeth) grandchildren Teddy and Josephine. Remembered by brother Tim (Lisa) and sisters Sarah (Doug) and Jeanne (Jim) and their children, aunts Evelyn and Gail and many others in his circle. Predeceased by his parents Ted and Adelma along with this brother Ted.
Doug grew up in New Westminster and attended NWSS playing hockey till later moving to Crescent Beach and pursuing a career in the lumber industry. He was an avid fisher and loved to golf, many at the local golf courses knew him well for his humor. He enjoyed cruising the gulf islands aboard his boat with his wife Laura and yellow lab Kirby. Many recently attended his 65th birthday celebration with 78 car drive by parade including pyrotechnics that brought him so much joy.
Over the past summer as he battled cancer, he would often be found sitting in his front yard greeting everyone that would pass by, visiting with friends and family while enjoying popsicles with his grandson Teddy and teaching granddaughter Josephine to walk. He would request fresh baked cookies and crab to be delivered from family and friends. He maintained a truly uplifting attitude during his battle laughing into his final days.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be arranged for a later date, email celebratingdoug2020@gmail.com for further information.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Edmund Douglas Hudson October 27th 2020..
