Edith “Blanche”’s Obituary
SILVER, Blanche Edith – Age 91 of Halifax, died peacefully in a private nursing home, Alton, NS on Thursday, April 16, 2020. Born in East Dalhousie, Kings County in 1928, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Olive (Jodrey) Young. Once married, Blanche spent her time gardening, preserving, pickling, quilting, knitting, crocheting and sewing. Blanche will always be remembered for her troll collection that was admired by many. She had a great love of many dogs throughout her years. Blanche is survived by sisters Joyce (Les) and Edna (Leo) Veinot along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her husband Robert, two daughters, Shirley and Olive Dianne (in infancy), beloved grandson Kevin (2018) and brothers: Maynard, Bernard, Foster and Ray. Special thanks to Marilyn and Spencer for your loving care. Donations in Blanche’s memory can be made to the SPCA Nova Scotia or a charity of choice. Due to COVID -19, there will be no visitation. There will be a private burial at the United Baptist Cemetery, Falkland Ridge, Annapolis County. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. 902-825-3448.
