Dr John F Young Wednesday February 19th 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce John’s peaceful passing, after a long fought battle with Kidney disease. John was in his 79th year. Loving father of Barbara Young-Fisher, Jennifer Young Pluck, Christopher Young (Brittany) and Peter Young. Devoted grandfather of Alexandria, Abigail, Spencer, Hannah and Isabella. Loving brother of Sheila Jacobs (the late Jake) of Alberta. Fondly remembered by our Mom Sharon. John was predeceased by his father Gordon Young, 1962 and his mother Irene Young (nee Palmer), 1994. Our Dad was born in Brantford and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from OAC, University of Guelph. He worked for Seagrams, before continuing his education at the University of Western Ontario, graduating in Dentistry. He practiced Dentistry in Brantford for 25 years. He loved spending time out at the farm, honing his skills as a beekeeper hobbiest. Our father had a passion for the stock market as well as politics, history and details surrounding the Civil War. He also loved spending time at the cottage and taking trips with the family to Florida. We would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ingram in Nephrology at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton for the care and treatment over many years. Also to the Kidney Dialysis Nurses at the Brantford General Hospital who looked after our Dad. A private Family Service has been held with interment at Farringdon Burial Ground. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
