Obituary for
Doris Dubetz
The family of Doris Dubetz of Smoky Lake, AB, are saddened to announce her passing on Friday August 21, 2020 at the age of 91 years.
Doris will be lovingly remembered by her children, Alvin (Noreen) Dubetz of Victoria, BC, Evelyn (Lot) Krawchuk of Edgerton, AB, Bonnie Dubetz of Sherwood Park, AB, and Karen (Henry) Bodner of Edmonton, AB. Grannie will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Candice, Peter, Joshua, Trevor, Lance, Trent, Lonnie, Andrew, Matthew, John, James and Larissa; by her great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris is also survived by her brother, Peter (Joyce) Babiuk; sisters, Pearl Yakimchuk and Angelean (Vic) Sorochan; and sister-in-law, Lynn Babiuk. Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, John Dubetz; son, Darcy Dubetz; parents, George and Katherine Babiuk; brothers, John and Steve; and sisters, Lena, Olga and Marie.
Doris was very devoted to her family and community, serving many organizations throughout her life. She was blessed to live a strong and fulfilled life in her own home and joyfully celebrated her 90th birthday with all of her family.
Doris’ family would like to thank the staff at Smoky Lake Auxiliary Continuing Care Centre for their compassion and care of their mother this past year.
A private family service to honour Doris’ life will take place on Saturday, August 29 at Holy Trinity Russo Orthodox Church, Smoky Lake with Archimandrite Gerasim Power officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
Doris is safely in the arms of Jesus.
