HARDY, Donald Malcolm (Macky) – 91, of Bridgetown, formerly of Clyde River, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2020 at the Mountain Lea Lodge nursing home, Bridgetown. Born in Shelburne, NS on February 20, 1929 he was a son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Hardy. Macky was predeceased by his wife, Marion Hill; brother, Arthur (Buddy) Hardy Jr. and sister, Jean McKay. He is survived by his sister, Zelma Williams; seven step-children and several nieces and nephews. Thanks to Linda Fredericks and Sally Hill-Deveau for all the support they gave Macky in his last years. Macky always enjoyed his car outings with stepson, Roland and playing his harmonica. A special thanks to the staff of Mountain Lea Lodge for all the excellent care. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, from 2-4 pm at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 20, at 1:00 pm from the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Cindy Dunnett officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating may be limited and social distancing guidelines must be followed. Also, please note that immediate family will be given priority for seating. There will be a livestream of this service on the Huskilson’s website (www.huskilson.net) for those unable to attend due to gathering restrictions at 1:00 pm AST. Interment to follow in Harbour View Cemetery, Port Saxon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or charity of choice.
