It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Dino Brufatto
on May 15, 2020 after a long- fought battle with cancer. He fought
courageously and passed peacefully with his wife by his side.
Predeceased by his father (Claudio) 2016, and mother (Teresa) 2014 and
is survived by his loving wife Elaine, stepson Andrew (Hailey), brothers
Fred and Loris, grandsons Adyn, Eli and Noah, numerous nephews,
nieces and other extended family.
He pursued employment as an Office Machine Technician in 1980
and later in construction, automotive service, and woodwork. He was
known for his quick wit among his co-workers. Dino believed in treating
everyone like his equal, without prejudice. He met people from all walks
of life and always made time to hear their stories.
His most memorable times were being employed at the float plane base
during the late 70’s in Campbell River. He made many friends and flew
into numerous inlets and hidden coves along the west coast of British
Columbia. Dino loved Vancouver Island and took photos of interesting
places and drove many back roads. His favorite place on the Island was
Oceanside (Parksville). He enjoyed exploring the Island, woodwork,
archery, hiking and talking to anyone he met during his travels.
There will be no celebration of life.
The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. H. Reimer, Dr. Masuda and
Home Care Support team. Donations can be made to the BC Cancer
Agency or Cowichan Valley Hospice House
