Dick (Richard Wilson) Moffatt
Dick Moffatt (Richard Wilson) age 76, of Fairmont Hot Springs passed away peacefully Tuesday Feb. 11, 2020.
He was born Dec. 1, 1943 in Whitby, North Riding, Yorkshire, England.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Tess, his children, Amanda (Prince Rupert) and Darcy (Calgary), his brother Christopher (Sharon) of Manitou Beach, Sask., sisters and brothers in law, numerous neices and nephews and British cousins.
Dick has been a resident of the valley since 2002 after retiring from a warehousing position in Calgary. He enjoyed the new challenge of learning to drive truck for Chris Ivy and Max Helmer for a few years. Since 2004 he has been active in the Windermere Valley Shared Ministry and more recently, the local Masonic Lodge.
A service will be held Saturday February 22 at 2:30 pm at Christ Church Trinity (110 – 7 Ave. Invermere). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Windermere Valley Shared Ministry (WVSM) Memorial Fund, The Invermere Health Care Auxiliary (Room #7), or the Terry Fox Foundation.
