Derek Robert Munday
November 20, 1958 – December 7, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of announce the untimely passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Derek passed peacefully on the morning of December 7th 2020, surrounded by his wife and kids. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Carol of 42 years. His children Alicia (Wade) Wheeler, Tyler Munday, Carter (Marianne) Munday, and Kendra (Nav) Toor. As well as his greatest joys, grandchildren: Blake and Ben Wheeler, Finn and Lucy Munday, Isla and Leyton Toor, and the newest arrival Joseph Munday. Also survived by his brother Craig (Peggy) Munday. As well as his faithful pup Rudy and countless family and friends. He has been reunited with his parents Bob and Lydia Munday, his father in-law Bill Dyck, his oldest grandson Noah, and his dog Kia. Dad was a loyal, hard-working man who put the needs of others first, he was always willing to help shovel, snow blow or cut grass for anyone who let him. He loved to watch his grandchildren in all their activities, he was their biggest fan and was extremely proud of them. Dad was an avid volunteer at Massey Place Community Church. Dad was able to enjoy two years of retirement after working for 45 years. The family would like to thank the first responders, the doctors and nurses of the CCU for their amazing care of him and the compassion we received. In lieu of flowers the please consider donating to a charity of your choice or the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association, or Muscular Dystrophy Association as these were causes near and dear to Dad.
