Derek Riley de Langley Thursday March 26th 2020

de Langley, Derek Riley
For those of you that didn’t have the privilege to know our Derek…
He was the sweetest boy. Funny, talented and kind. He always told me he loved me and never minded how much I hugged him. He was such a good son and brother and friend. He always did whatever Farm chores we asked of him without complaint. An honour student, a quarter back and Captain, a model and an actor, he was destined for greatness of that we have no doubt. Never one to watch TV or be on social media, Derek preferred to work on his music. He was an accomplished guitar player, piano player and vocalist and wrote many songs which we are eternally grateful to still get to listen too. He was a beautiful soul that never caused us any pain – until now. We were so blessed to have such a breathtaking soul in our lives.
A celebration of Derek’s amazing life will be held at a later date.

  1. We send our love, support and prayers to your family. Your grief is shared with our family. Such a beautiful soul will never be replaced and will be missed dearly.

  2. I had the privilege of coaching Derek rugby at Mayfield. He was an exceptional athlete but an even better person. He always had a smile and I could tell that he thoroughly enjoyed every game and practice. That joy rubbed off on his teammates and coaches.
A truly good person who I and everyone who knew him will miss.
My thoughts are with his family.

    Coach KZ
