Obituary
CHAPMAN, Dennis Clark
Dennis Clark Chapman passed away at his home in Saskatoon on November 2, 2020. As per his wishes, no service will be held. Cremation arrangements were in the care of Mourning Glory Funeral Services.
He is lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Lorie (Dean) Langenfurth, Colleen (Darrin) Ooms, Michelle (Edzel) Pereira; grandchildren, Jessy (Michelle), Randy, Joel (Lindy), Ryan (Allyssa), Milan, Alayzsa; two great grandchildren, Holden and Violet; three siblings, Raymond (Annette) Chapman, Julie (Hugh) Aikman and Norma Chapman. Dennis also leaves behind his loving friend Faye. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Rose Chapman and his oldest brother Sonny.
Dennis loved ABBA, racquetball, National Geographic, everything science fiction related and sports. His favourite teams were the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and of course the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was an avid soccer player when he was younger and enjoyed playing on several different teams through the years. When his girls were young he enjoyed coaching their fastball teams and never shied away from giving the umps a run for their money when he thought a bad call had been made and calling his own daughters out stealing second base when he was the base ump! He was well known for his sweet tooth and always had a crisper full of chocolate treats. His dogs were very important to him and he always said he trusted dogs more than he trusted people. Dennis was a great dancer and always enjoyed the chance to show off his moves on the dance floor – disco never died for him. His perfect evening consisted of a pepperoni pizza, a coke, a bag of Goodie Rings, a dog in his lap and a sci fi flick on the TV. In his later years he enjoyed Mondays at the casino.
Dennis lived life on his own terms and never overlooked the chance to let you know he was right no matter what the subject was. One of his kids favourite memories was about his “Dad’s Book of Rules”. It didn’t matter what the subject was there was a rule for it. The book was invisible and you only got a copy when you became a parent and he could add pages and rules at any time.
Dennis was infamous for being late without apology and we hope he doesn’t make heaven wait too long while he picks up one final pizza.
Miss you Dad
