Obituary for
David Richard Fortune
Suddenly at the age of 54, on July 14, 2020, at his residence in Brockville, Ontario. Born on February 2, 1966, in Ottawa, Ontario, David is lovingly remembered by his wife Elizabeth Fortune, children David (Alyssa Marie Fleck), Dominic and Jessica, his mother Colette (Giroux); sister Peggy (Patrick Borbey), brother Patrick (Cathy King); stepdaughters Brieanna McLean (Benjamin Fleming) and Kallie McLean (Chandler Fournier), as well as beloved granddaughters Quinn Fortune and Addyson Fleming, nieces and nephews Daniel Borbey (Kelsey Tobin), Jennifer Fortune (Steven Gendron), Eric Borbey, Melissa Fortune (Sean Tekano), Mathieu Borbey (Tanya Schaubs), his parents in law Sue and Gord Fraser and his sister in law Sarah (Ian Kijewski) and their boys Bryce and Ethan as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his father Patrick Fortune. Gifted with a wonderful sense of humour and much compassion, David was a talented professional painter and worked exceptionally hard throughout his life. Quick with a smile and a joke, he will be deeply missed. A private service for the family will be held at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.
