David Patrick “Dave” Ettinger
1961-2020
David Patrick “Dave” Ettinger – age 58, of
Kentville passed away Tuesday January 7, 2020 at home surrounded by
his family. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Roland
“Pauss” Ettinger and Mary “Pat”
Ettinger. Dave was employed with Universal Staffing for over 20 years.
He was very involved in sports especially hockey where he coached all
levels from Quick Start to the Acadia University girls team. He also
loved NASCAR and had a great passion for cooking. Many of his kids
friends loved to spend the night just to enjoy his delicious pancakes.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years the former June
“Joon” Babstock as well as his son, Dylan
“Bo” Ettinger; his daughters, Melissa and Holly and
his special buddies, Bacon and Taz; siblings, Ab (Cindy), Orleans,
Debbie Ettinger, Kingston, Karen (Carl) Hake, Kingston, Lynn Ettinger
(Tanya Hamilton), Kingston, nieces and nephews, Jennie, Lindsey,
Rachel, Stephanie, Shawn, Kari and Kristi. In addition to his parents,
he was predeceased by a brother, Michael “Mike”
(2018). Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by
request. The funeral service and reception will be held at 2:00 p.m.
on Monday January 13, 2020 in the White Family Funeral Home,
Kentville. Family flowers only by request. Donations may be made to
the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the MS Society. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
