David’s Obituary
LIND, David Francis – age 71, Arcadia, Yarmouth Co., passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, September 17, 2020 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born October 14, 1948 in Dartmouth, he was a son of the late John and Ruby (Doggett) Lind. David served with the United States Military in his younger years, and after returning to Nova Scotia, worked with Sobeys for some time. He enjoyed working in his flower gardens and looked forward to his Wednesday night card games with the boys. He is survived by his loving partner of more than 25 years, Glenda (DeViller) Roberts, as well as by his daughter, Patti Ann (Jim) Hancock, Ottawa; a grandson, Bryson; a step-son, Philip (Susan) Lind, as well as their children, Kyler and Sarah, all of St. John’s, Newfoundland; a brother, Alan Lind (Peggy), Dartmouth and many nieces and nephews, along with his fur baby, his cat, Rags. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, John Lind and a sister, Caroline Thibideau. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Yarmouth, where the family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, September 22, immediately followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating may be limited at the funeral home and social distancing guidelines must be followed (immediate family will be given priority for seating). Interment will take place at a later date in the Melbourne Cemetery. Donations in memory of David may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Yarmouth SPCA.
