Obituary
After a two year battle with cancer, David Buhler, age 68, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020 at his home in Macgregor, surrounded by family. David was born to David and Anna Buhler on August 13, 1952, in Altona, Manitoba. He was the eighth of fourteen children born to David and Anna Buhler. He was baptized upon the confession of his faith in June, 1972, in the Altona Reinlander Church. David married Sara Unrau July 2, 1972, and they lived south of Plum Coulee where they raised their five children. They later moved to Rosengart where they lived until Sara’s passing on August 2, 2008. He was blessed to meet Betty Kehler in 2009. They married January 9, 2010, after which he moved to Macgregor. Dad welcomed five more children and their extended families.
Throughout the past two years, dad fought a good fight against cancer, showing so much strength and determination. At times he could be quite stubborn, which served him well. Despite losing strength in the last week, Dad expressed to many different people, how much he was looking forward to seeing the whole family at the Thanksgiving gathering.
Anyone that knew Dad, knew he had a love of farming. He worked many hours on farms such as Kuhl Farms, Haskett Growers and at Anton Wiebe’s. In the last while, when he was not able to work, Dad enjoying going to Anton’s and having coffee with everyone. His favorite job was driving the combine during harvest time, which he was looking forward to this fall. Sadly he was not able to do so.
Dad loved each and every one of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. The grandkids were quick to discover grandpa’s love of candy and they were happy to share with him. They always knew where to go to find a treat. Along with spending time with grandchildren, Dad enjoyed going camping and visiting with friends and family.
