David C. Black
1943-2020
It is with sadness we announce the
passing of David Church Black, age 77, of
Amherst. David passed away unexpectedly at home on
Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the
late Elbert and Esther (Mayne) Black.
He lived and worked as a Property
Assessor in Toronto, Ontario most of his life, returning to Amherst to
work in Property Management until his retirement. David
enjoyed Art of all sorts, collecting many pieces for his
home. He wrote numerous articles for Arts magazines. He was
also a board member for the Cumberland County Museum and Archives. He
enjoyed playing golf and was once the President of the Amherst Golf
Club.
He is survived by his siblings Elbert
“Lee” (Maureen), Georgetown, ON, Barbara Hood, Amherst, NS,
Fred, Amherst, NS, Carol (Brian) Zwicker, Edmonton, AB,; 6 nieces and
nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). A private family graveside
service will take place in the Amherst Cemetery at a later
date.

charity of your choice.
