Clarence Karras passed away on Monday April 27 at the age of 90 at Hillside Manor in Salmon Arm.
He leaves behind his wife Alice, sisters Irene (Duane) Stewart, of Oakville, Ontario, Marilyn (Wally) Garrod of Vernon, and sister-in-law Tannis of Kamloops. He was predeceased by his brother Herb in 2017.
Clarence has lived in the Enderby/Grindrod area since he moved with his family from Saskatchewan when he was 15.
When he retired from his business of approximately 40 years in the logging industry he enjoyed the family lot at Cottonwood Creek on Mabel Lake, his vegetable garden and his workshop(s). He took pleasure in crafting furniture from the wood that he had milled with his sawmills on Watershed Road at Ashton Creek. He took great pride in restoring his 1929 Dodge and showing it in car shows and parades. He enjoyed the camaraderie of the Vintage Car Club.
Clarence shared many happy times with his nieces and nephews. His life was further enhanced by his relationship with Alice’s children and grandchildren.
He is sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
The family is thankful for the care Clarence received from the staff at Hillside Manor during the four years that he lived there.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Clarence William Karras April 27th 2020..
