We regret to announce the passing of our dear mother Cécile at the age of 93. Cecile passed away on February 19, 2020 in St. Paul, Alberta.
She is predeceased by her husband John-Henry and is survived by their children Monique, Colette and Jean-Paul and grandchildren Emily and Peter. She is predeceased by her second husband Howard Cook and Howard’s daughter Mariette, and is survived by his children by a previous marriage: David, Don, Lorraine, Raymond.
Cécile was born in St. Paul. She started teaching in St. Vincent. She also taught in Mallaig, Edmonton, and St. Paul. Later in her career she was the Librarian at the St. Paul Regional School until retiring in 1986. She received her B.Ed. from the University of Alberta.
Cécile loved the outdoors and was devoted to gathering the family at the cottage on St. Vincent Lake. Family outings often involved berry picking with Cécile intent on finding the ultimate blueberry patch.
Cecile was interested in history. She was a long time volunteer at the Museé Historique St. Paul Historical Museum and helped publish “Du Passé au Present and Past”, stories of the families in the St. Paul area. She also loved reading and volunteered with the St. Paul Library.
Cécile had many hobbies: playing card and board games, music, doing a variety of crafts. The family appreciated the many sweaters she knitted for them.
We will miss Cecile’s friendship and support.
Thank you to Sunnyside Manor for the care they provided in her later years.
– Respectfully the Bielech Family.
