Cecil Sooley
July 24, 1948 – September 17, 2020
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cecil Sooley of Newmarket, Ontario/Heart’s Delight, Newfoundland who passed away on September 17th, 2020.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Lillian (nee Pittman); daughter Tracy; son-in-law, Joe Swalcy; and grandchildren, Michaela and Briana-Rose Nudo. He is survived by his siblings Selby (Norma), Sylvia Woodman (Jim Milley), Gertie (Dave) Boone, Beatrice Shears, Clayton (Monica), and Blanche (Pat) Obrien.
Predeceased by his parents, Jonas and Hazel (nee Jones); and brother, Graham Herbert.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 7:00 – 9:00 pm from Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo. All current Covid-19 regulations will apply including limiting numbers in the building, social distancing, and wearing a mask or other face covering.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25 at 11:00 am from St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery, Heart’s Delight-Islington.
Donations in Cecil’s memory may be made to the St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery Fund, Heart’s Delight-Islington.
