Obituary of Bruce Raymond Kearnes
Kearnes, Bruce Raymond – 78, of Tupperville passed away December 9, 2020 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton after a lengthy battle with illness. He was born March 18, 1942, in Annapolis Royal. Bruce was a man of many talents; crafting many wooden boats, including his own; a commercial fisherman off the West Coast of BC; a chef, cooking and eating gave him much pleasure. He was passionate about foraging for wild mushrooms, and taking beach walks to collect rocks. He was an artist, he painted and played guitar, he had a sharp sense of humour and carried much pride being an Acadian. As being a true Maritimer, he always dreamed of returning to Nova Scotia. He was so happy to finally do so with his family. The family wishes to thank the medical team at Soldiers Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. Bruce was grateful for the time spent with his supportive friend, Al. He will be greatly missed by his companion dog, Blue. Bruce is survived by his sons, Trevor, David and Rob; his wife and partner of 38 years, Wendy; son, Matthew; daughter, Alison (Devan) and two incredible grandsons, Connor and Cedar. A celebration of Bruce’s life will take place when the Covid restrictions allow. Donations in his memory may be sent to Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton or Elder Dog Canada.
