Brent Nelson Kyle 19662020

Brent Nelson Kyle
1966-2020
Brent Nelson Kyle, 54, of Curryville passed away after a
brief illness at the Moncton Hospital on December 3rd,
2020. He was born on May 19, 1966 in Newcastle, NB,
the son of Paul and Kathleen (Steeves) Kyle.
His early years were spent in New Brunswick, collecting two
younger sisters along the way before the family moved to Tidnish, NS
in 1974. Brent graduated from Amherst Regional High
School in 1984, and completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Saint
Mary’s University in Halifax in 1988. Brent lived
for many years during the 1990’s and early 2000’s in Victoria, BC,
working largely in construction and roofing. He
moved home to the Maritimes in 2007, buying a house on Albert Mines
Road in Albert County, NB, close to where his parents
retired. Brent had a close and special relationship
with his grandmother, Mary Ethel Steeves also of Albert Mines Road,
until her death in 2017. He was a long time
employee and worked with Barry Russell, he was reliable and skilled in
tackling a wide-variety of carpentry and construction
jobs. Evidence of his handiwork can be seen
throughout Albert County and Southern New
Brunswick. He was always pointing out to the homes
he worked on with pride of a job well done.
Brent was a wonderful uncle. During trips
from the west, his nieces enjoyed sledding with him on his fantastic
tobogganing hill, laughing at how he’d go “swimming” up to
his ankles, teasing him with anything pink, testing his encyclopedic
knowledge of geography, and receiving the best, silliest Christmas
gifts every year. He will be missed in so many
ways, but will always be in our hearts.
Brent is survived by his parents, Paul and Kathleen;
companion, Valerie Stickings; sisters, Beth and Vanessa;
brother-in-law, Reynold Bergen; precious nieces, Katie and Charlotte
Bergen; aunts and uncles, Richard and Susan Steeves, Gordon and Gerri
Steeves, Eleanor and Sydney Butland and Dean Kyle; numerous cousins
and many friends in New Brunswick, Tidnish and British
Columbia. He will also be missed by his special
cat, Common.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Raymond and Mary
Ethel Steeves, Donald and Olive Kyle, and aunt Audrey
Kyle.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff for
their dedication and care during Brent’s treatment and stay at the
Moncton Hospital, it will never be forgotten.
Honouring Brent’s own wishes there will be no visitation or
funeral service. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a
Celebration of his life will be held at a later
date. Interment will be in the Green Hill Cemetery,
Edgett’s Landing, NB.
For those who wish, donations to your local food bank in
Brent’s memory would be greatly appreciated.

A flash of lightning in
a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a
