Obituary of Bill Malloy
Surrounded by his loving family, William (Bill) Malloy sadly lost his battle with cancer on December 2, 2020 at his home in Linacy, NS.
Born December 17, 1946 in Lochaber, NS. Bill was predeceased by his mother Mary, father Adolph and sister Florence. Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jacqueline, sisters Ruby Nickerson, Barb Guthro (Tim) and Faye Swain, brother Danny Murphy (Marilyn), sons Mike Patriquin (Cathy), and David MacLean, daughters Darlene Melanson, Jenny Malloy (Glen), Patti Malloy (Joey), Laura MacLean (Ray), Julie MacLean (Andrew), Sienna Watters (Mark), Keri Roberts (Mitchell), stepchildren Jody Dorey (Sandra), Tyler Dorey (Karla), grandchildren Willow, Keighan, Brittany, Ronnie, Kyla, Colby, Christian, Sadie, Zack, Madisson, Ethan, Alden, Ivan, Brynn, Knox, Rowan, Tyler, Julia, Jackson and great-grandchildren Hailey, Hunter, Jordan and Colton.
Bill was incredibly proud of his family and loved spending time with them. Affectionately known as Grampy Bill or BoBo, he always had treats ready for visiting children. Bill had a knack for making everyone feel special and a part of the family.
Bill was very talented with a guitar and loved old country music. He spent many nights sitting with a guitar, a drink, and friends, singing classic country and tapping his toe to the beat. Bill loved attending Bluegrass festivals and camping with his friends.
Bill had many close friendships which he treasured greatly. He was a gifted storyteller with had a story or a detailed memory for every situation, always delivered with a great sense of humor.
Bill was talented at buying and selling and the art of making a deal. He enjoyed driving around the province down every dirt road, finding his next gem and making a great trade. He loved antique cars and trucks. He considered himself a collector and he hated to throw anything away.
Bill had a great love of all animals and he adored his two dogs, Tucker and Dozer.
Bill will be missed so many. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul with a great love of life. He fought so hard in his battle against cancer always keeping a positive outlook, never complaining about his situation. Bill was comforted in his last days surrounded by his loving daughters and wife who he considered his angels.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 5th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Eagles Funeral Home 1611 North Main Street Westville. Please wear a mask if you plan to attend; social distancing will be required. A private service will take place for family (by invitation only please), however will be available via live stream (link to be posted later) on Sunday, December 6th at 1:00 with Rev. Glen Matheson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army Christmas Fund.
