Obituary for Bill Hill
William Earl ‘Bill’ Hill, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully at The Oaks Retirement Village on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the age of 92. Bill is the son of the late John Delmar & Lydia Margaret (Mellott) Hill. Beloved husband of Doris Ann (Lockwood) Hill (June 13, 2016). Loving father of Timothy (Donna), David (Shelley) and Jennifer Hill (the late Scott Daly). Dear grandfather of Matthew (Jennifer), Brian (Jessica), Jennilea and Jonathan (Erin) and great grandfather of Avery, Braeden, Christian, Kaitlyn, Caroline, Mya, Autumn and Addison. Predeceased by great grandchild Shelby Marie. Brother of the late Jack Hill and Dorothy Shanks. Brother-in-law of the late Lockwood sisters Hazel (Happy) Markham, Helen (Craig) Ainslie, Jean (Ralph) Dean and Marion (Russell) Wright. Bill began his farming career in the Comber area and then farmed in Dover Township. Over the years dad enjoyed Nascar and Indy car racing, the Calgary Stampede and his dogs (usually Shelties). He was a faithful member of the Liar’s Club at the local Tim Horton’s. A private family graveside service will be held at McDowell Cemetery in Comber. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg.
