Obituary of Barbara Rachel Waugh
WAUGH, (Thibodeau) Barbara R. “Barb” – of Belnan formally of Meteghan Centre. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Barb, age 80, who passed away in her sleep in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, after a brief illness with cancer.
Barbara was the daughter of the late Albert Thibodeau and Aimée “Emma” Gaudet. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter; and son, Allan.
She will be fondly remembered by her daughter, Margaret (Michael) Reid; granddaughter, Rhonda; godmother, Tante Bertha; many cousins; Belnan neighbours and friends.
During her lifetime, Barb walked many miles and spent many hours fundraising for charitable organizations: Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation; Caring and Sharing for Children and shortly before her illness she volunteered for the Food Bank.
She was an artisan par excellence by creating beautiful crafts with paint, yarn, ceramics and wood.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.
