Passed away, peacefully with her loving son by her side, on October 2, 2020 at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, Barbara Elsie (Ross) Gubesch, a longtime resident of Tillsonburg, at the age of 93. Barbara was born in Woodstock, to the late Robert Ross and late Elsie (Slater) Ross. Always an avid gardener, she cared for a beautiful array of flowers on her patio at her Queen Street Residence. A strong supporter of the Salvation Army, she enjoyed spending her time volunteering at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, Tillsonburg. Dearly missed by her caring family Michael (Christine) Gubesch, and their son Kieran, of Langton and survived by two brothers Charles Ross (late Winnie), of Tillsonburg and Harold ‘Bump’ (Phyllis) Ross, of Vancouver, B.C. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by three brothers Robert (Bob) Ross (late Pauline), Tony Ross and Paul Ross.
In keeping with Barbara’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place on Wednesday, October 7th, 2020 at 3:00 pm in the Tillsonburg Cemetery, by Captain Nancy Sheils. Due to COVID safety restrictions, each person attending must be listed as a guest. Guests must bring and wear face masks and maintain social distancing rules. Friends and relatives are invited to offer support and caring by sending flowers, posting photos, notes of tribute, favourite memories and hugs from home on Barbara’s tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com.
