Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Anne Demmings, born on August 16, 1959 in Prince Rupert (BC), deceased May 22, 2020 in Fort St. John (BC). Barbara was a loving, caring, kind-hearted, generous and empathetic person who will be greatly missed.
In childhood Barbara attended schools in Martensville and Saskatoon (SK), Three Hills (AB), Fort St. John (BC) and Tumbler Ridge (BC). Throughout her life she worked at the Taylor Refinery, the Fort St. John airport and for a time was a caregiver to three young children. Barbara enjoyed spending time at the library, reading, watching movies, listening to music, attending concerts, playing online games, jigsaw puzzles, crafting and gardening, especially flowers. She had a keen interest in collecting Royal Family memorabilia; Princess Diana being her favorite. Barbara’s pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she always was interested in their day to day lives.
Barbara was predeceased by her nephew Peter Pumm, her stepfather Terry Price, and brother-in-law Ken Pumm. She is survived and greatly missed by her family; husband Warren Demmings, parents Francis (Sonny) Burgess and Sylvia Price, siblings Shirley Pumm, Sheldon Price and Catharine Semeniuk (Trent), daughters Sheri Hawker (Dan), and Alana Whalley (Al), grandchildren Rikki Whalley (Travis), Emily Whalley, Zachery and Mackinley Hawker, great-grandchildren Sophia and Everett Williams, nephews Terry Pumm (Michelle) and Ethan Semeniuk, nieces Kiara and Kristana Semeniuk, step-daughter Jessie Synard (Jesse) and step-grandchildren Kato, Lyric and Remy Synard.
The family wishes to extend gratitude to those who prayed, visited, offered support and provided meals. A special thank you to Dr. Wright and the home nurses for their care and guidance.
