It is of great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Austin Parsons announces his passing away peacefully at his home in Rose Blanche NL on November 9th 2020 at the age of 74 years. Born in Rose Blanche NL, Austin was the son of the late John/Martha Parsons. He was predeceased by daughter Cathy MacDonald. brothers Clyde Parsons, Gordon Parsons, Ralph Parsons, Ronald Parsons and his sister Susie Keeping.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his partner Ann Belong, his son Willie (Joan Parsons) of Middle Sackville NS. daughter Walterine(Stephen) Faye of Shelburne NS. He also leaves to mourn his former spouse Gloria Parsons of Halifax NS., grandchildern John MacDonald(Jennifer Taylor) Jessica Parsons, Johnny MacDonald, Kaylene MacDonald (Colin Bradley), Jordan Parsons (Bailee Ewing), Great grandchildren Caden Quann, Karlee MacDonald pluse a wide circle of family and friends.
Austin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends singing and playing accordian or his guitar. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing darts and a good game of cards. He was a quiet man who enjoyed a simple life and his great smile will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Due to the current public health advisory of COVID-19, there will be a viewing at East Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. There will be a private family service on Wednesdy, November 11th, 2 pm from East Haven Funeral Home officiated by The Rev. Canon Jeffrey Petten with interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
