It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aurora Libera Costantino. (Née Porreca). Aurora was pre-deceased by her husband Tony and will be greatly missed by her children Lorenzo (Jill), Patricia (Tim) and Sandra (Emanuele) and her grandchildren Brianne, Shelby, Jesse Rae, Nico, Antonio and Adamo. She in now finally at peace by dads side. Born at home in Piane d’Archi, Italy at dawn, Mom’s father, our Nonno, walked out to the balcony, held her up and named her Aurora . In 1959, Mom sailed alone from Naples to Halifax then got on a train across Canada to meet with dad who had settled months earlier in Vancouver. Here, they built their life together. Mom and Dad loved to spend weekends with family and friends playing card games, going to a dance or just getting together for meals. Pushing three tables together and eating dinner with 25 people was just a regular occurrence at our home and the front door always open for company. Sadly, 12 years ago, after a courageous but successful fight with cancer, mom went fully blind after complications with surgery. From then on, life was difficult for both mom and dad but they always worked hard to get the family together and keep the traditions alive. We get comfort knowing that they are now back together and mom is able to see the blue sky and stars again. May you both dance under those stars forever.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Aurora’s memory to the BC Cancer Foundation.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Aurora Libera Costantino November 21 1938 November 25 2020..
