Aurelien Marcotte 2020

MARCOTTE, Aurelien
April 29, 1926 – November 2, 2020
The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury, Monday, November 2, 2020 at the age of 94 years. Son of the late Melchior and the late Eglantine (née Deschamps) Marcotte. Dear brother of Florence Burek (Eddie). Predeceased by his siblings Raymonde St-Denis, Yvonne Marcotte, Aurore Marcotte, Horace, Alphonse and Ernest. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his special niece and nephew Chris and Gerry Marcotte, his caregiver friend Riitta, as well as by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He grew up on a farm and maintained the family farm until his latter years. He was proud to be known as a hardworking farmer. In his younger years, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed racing his huskies in dog sled races. He loved his horses like a true cowboy and roped in the calves as needed. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, listening to old country music and story telling. He will be missed by his large extended family and close friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St-Gabriel’s Villa (High Falls) and HSN for providing excellent care and compassion. The family will receive family and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford, Sunday, November 8th, 2020 from 2 to 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, November 9th, 2020 at 11 a.m. at St-Joseph Church, Chelmsford. Due to the current pandemic, there will be restrictions on the number of attendees and masks are mandatory. Donations can be made by cheque or online to St-Gabriel Villa (Activity Department) www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
