Obituary for
Armand Joseph LeBlanc
Armand Joseph LeBlanc
Passed away in Sudbury, Thursday, March 26, 2020; born, May 24th, 1925 at Anse de Belliveau, Nova Scotia, to Alphonse and Estelle Thériault, fifth of 8 children and the last survivor of his family. He had fond memories of his 4 sisters, Marie Soucie (Denis), Cécile Belliveau (Dick), Nora Arsenault (Joseph), and Anita Gorman (Bill) and his 3 brothers, Dennis (Thérèse Melançon), Bernard (Bernadette Belliveau) and Gérald who died at 3 months. He married in 1951, at the age of 26 to Jeanne Thériault and established in Ontario for work. Their eternal love produced two boys, René (Lorraine Leduc) and Jean as well as 5 grandchildren, Manon, Josée (Terry Driver), Ginette, Joelle and Sophie and 4 great-grandchildren, Alex, Nicholas, Anthony and Everly. There are no words that express how this man, through his exemplary life, influenced us all. He was marked by his experience as a soldier and dedicated his life to others, whether through his work in the mines, as a volunteer with Scouts, Knights Columbus at the 4th degree, or as member of the board of directors for the development of the Caisse Populaire Lasalle. We will keep fond memories of this old soldier, his humor, his laughter, his perseverance to live and to survive no matter the circumstances. Armand took great measures to defend his country and our rights. Always grateful to his family in Acadia, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and Boston who took the time to keep him in touch with him, to friends who stopped by, brought goodies or played Sequence with him. A special thank you to Anne Saulnier and all his nieces and nephews, who wrote to him and called him from time to time to ensure his well-being and contact with his homeland Acadia. Special thanks to the Greater Sudbury Community Health Centre, the Shared Cared Team, the McCulloch Hospice Palliative Team, Dr. Walton, Home Instead, June Langlois and Pauline Fillion for helping him stay in his home during these last years. His favorite saying, never a goodbye, but “à la prochaine chicane”! A donation to the Canadian Kidney Foundation or McCulloch House would be appreciated. A celebration of his life will be announced later.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Armand Joseph
