La célébration de
Anthony Almeida
25 juillet 1937 –
14 avril 2020
On Tuesday, April 14th, 2020, Anthony Magneric Almeida, the loving husband of Odette, and father of three children Gisellyn (Pedhrino), Gwen (Harold) and Quincy, as well as grandfather to eight grandchildren, passed away at the age of 82. He was also the dear brother of Sircula, Elma, and the late Immaculate, Ophelia and Gaudencio.
‘Magni’ was born on July 25, 1937 in Nairobi, Kenya. He served as the Chief Investigator of the Nairobi police force, and married Odette Maria Rebello in 1968. A committed husband of 51 years, together they moved to Canada to raise their three children, and provide them with greater opportunities. In Canada, he was a public servant, serving the Ministry of Finance for the Government of Ontario for the duration of his career.
Magni had many passions, but above all he was passionate about his family. As a field hockey goalie, or playing the harmonica, and even through his whistling communications with the birds and squirrels – wherever he went, he was able to put a smile on the faces of those around him. There was no doubt when he was having a good time, if he bellowed out “One more time!” at the end of a song. This next song will be at the pearly gates of heaven.
In the midst of the new corona virus pandemic, one of the greatest challenges of these very turbulent times is not being able to grieve in person with our dearest family and friends. The family will be holding a private mass and celebration of life on Saturday, April 18th, 2020.
Next year, on Sunday, April 18, 2021 a funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Mississauga.
