Anna Mae Marshall
It is with great sadness that the family of Anna Mae Marshall
announces her passing which occurred on July 12, 2020, at Hampton,
NB. Born in Sus, NB, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd
and Laura (Hayes) Mason.
Anna is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Allan
Marshall, and children: Scott (Tracey), Mark (Jessica), and John, all
of Hampton; Grandchildren: Laura, Eric, Ryder and Harlow
Marshall, all of Hampton; Brother: Stephen (Julie) Mason of
Meadow Lake, Sask; Sister: Joy Patriquen (Wayne Johnson) of
Hampton; as well as several nieces and nephews: Joel Patriquen, Nathan
Patriquen, Amanda Mason, Ethan Mason, Matthew Mason, Nichole Marshall
and Michael Marshall and cousin; Judy Hamilton (nee: Mason) of
Moncton.
Following graduation from the Saint John General Hospital
School of Nursing, Anna was employed at the Saint John General
Hospital, Neurosurgery Dept, for two years. After marriage,
she moved to Calgary, Alberta and was employed at the Calgary General
Hospital for 9 years in the surgery intensive care unit. A
move to Winnipeg in 1977 allowed Anna to continue her nursing career
in the ICU unit at the Victoria General Hospital until 1979 when the
family returned to New Brunswick. Anna completed her working
career employed in the family Insolvency business, Allan Marshall
& Associates Inc.
Those who have had occasion to work with Anna personally or
professionally would attest to the fact that Anna represented the
personification of kindness. Anna’s final act of
kindness was the request that a Bursary be established in her name to
be awarded to a male and a female graduate of Hampton High School who
had evidenced volunteer activity and overcome personal or family
hardships, so as to make themselves eligible for further
post-secondary education.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Ruth Munro for her
unfailing support for Anna during the last several years of
Anna’s failing health.
