Allen was born at Island Lake where his family had a homestead and operated a Sawmill. From the time he was a young boy he learned to hunt and fish and work hard. He loved the outdoors and always worked in Forestry, Sawmills, ad as a Faller.
Allen married while working in Hazelton B.C. Allen and “Dearie” lived in several places in B.C. wherever the work was.
They also took time for relaxation, traveling with their motorhome and to that special Island where they would sleep on the boat and spend time on the Island.
Allen was seriously injured in a logging accident and after more then a year recuperating had to take lighter work.
They moved to Merritt B.C. and bought a house with a big yard and made a beautiful home for themselves. “Dearie” passed away on April 20, 1994. Allen moved to Sicamous to try and start over but was lost without her. He moved back to Athabasca in 2011 and loved to get out in the bush and cut fire word and kept busy with the yard and garden.
