Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Alice Mae Thompson announce her passing at Shannex Embassy Hall on Friday October 23, 2020. Wife of the late Hugh Thompson of Blacks Harbour. She was the daughter of the late Frank Harris and Bertha (Scott) Harris of McAdam. Alice was employed with Connors Bros. in Blacks Harbour for many years. She enjoyed the simple things in life: a good cup of tea, flowers, fresh hot order of French Fries, being on the water, being Santa Claus for many, and wearing beautiful sun hats. Alice was known for being the life of the party, she would do her Popeye impression anywhere and everywhere to get a rise. She brought laughter and joy to everyone. She will be missed by her sons: Robert Thompson (Sharon) of Saint John and Wayne Thompson (Irene) of Blacks Harbour; her daughter Jeanette Spearing (Mark James) of Quispamsis; her sister Dorothy McClary of Brownville, Maine; her grandchildren: Erica, Natasha, Travis, Rebecca, Pam, Mike, Markus, Jessie, and Rocco; and by her great-grandchildren: Mandy and Logan. Along with her parents, Alice was predeceased by her brothers: Fred Harris, Elmer Harris, Leslie Harris, Carl Harris, Kenneth Harris, and Robert Harris; and by her sister Elsie (Harris) Leslie. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB, E2J 2G3 (506)-646-2424. There will be no visiting, a graveside service will be held at a later date. In Alice’s memory, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
