Obituary of Albert Hardy
HARDY, W. Albert
Pictou
William Albert Hardy, Pictou, passed away peacefully September 23, 2020, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born on May 13, 1942, he was a son of the late Albert and Helen (Fennell) Hardy, and also his aunt Jean, who looked after him like he was her own. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; and his four daughters, Paula MacIsaac, Marcia (Stephen) Sampson, Susan Hardy, and Jennifer (Steven) Langille; as well as grandchildren, Zachary and Kayla MacIsaac, Kyra and Jorja Langille. He is also survived by his five sisters, Anne Purvis, Ruth Bezanson, Jeannie Brennan, Margo Coulter, and Linda Russell; and was predeceased by his brother, Hugh. Albert was a great athlete in his younger years, Track and Field was his passion. He was Manager of the West Side Kentucky Fried Chicken store for many years, also Dairy Queen, and had worked at many local hotels. Moving to Pictou in 1985, he baked at the former IGA store, and his “French Bread”… was so delicious. His last place of employment was Addiction Services in Pictou, from where he retired in 2015. Albert was a loving father, husband, and Papa….he will be missed, especially his special words, “can I help you”, and, “I love you”. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. There will be no visitation, and burial will be held at a later date. The family wish to thank nursing staff on Aberdeen’s 5th floor, and also Dr. Kaiprath, for their kindness. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA.
