NICKERSON, Alberta “Rosemary” – 64, West Head, It is with great sadness that we the family of Rosemary Nickerson announces her passing on June 22, 2020. After a 38 year battle with M.S., she went home to be with her Lord with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 26, 1956 to the late Wordlow and Elsie (Chetwynd) Goreham of Woods Harbour. Rosemary met the love of her life in 1973 and was married in November 1974 to Franklin C. Nickerson. They built their home in West Head, Cape Sable Island, where they started their family and had two children, Tiffany (Andy) Hunt and Frankie (Ashley) Nickerson; four grandchildren, Andrew (Shyanne) Hunt, Isabella Nickerson, Bailey Nickerson, Breia Nickerson; she is also survived by her brothers, Milford Goreham, Wordlow Goreham, Clifford Goreham, Gary Goreham, Sidney Goreham; and sister, Lee Goreham-Smith. She had a special connection with her aunt, Veletta Muise, Roseway Manor. Over the years and because of the care she needed, she made some special friends that became family; Leisa Swim; Rhonda Nickerson; and Louann Link. They were always there for her and took the best care possible so she could spend the remainder of her life at home where she wanted to be. At the age of five she began playing the piano that lead her to play at West Head Church where she became a member and played until her disease inhibited her from doing so. She played the piano for the choir, Christmas Easter concerts, funerals and Sunday services. She was a committed member of the ladies mission. Rosemary followed in her father’s footsteps as she was a fabulous cook. She loved to bake and made many birthday cakes for children in the neighbourhood. She also enjoyed weekly gatherings with her local Christmas club but, most of all she enjoyed spending time at home with her family and friends. A special “thank you” to the VON continuing care, paramedics and the doctors and staff of Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Barrington. There will be a memorial service held at a later date due to Covid 19 gathering restrictions.
